For his design expertise, Ron has received numerous design accolades throughout his career including being awarded ‘Golf Designer of the Year’ by International Network of Golf. His educational background, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, with a specialization in turf grasses, has made him a leading authority in the golf industry. Ron was chosen to receive the University of Florida’s Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2003. He received his award at the Graduation Commencement for the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences. In 2009, Ron was inducted into the Polk County Schools Hall of Fame for his signifcant contribution to the golf industry. Ron has extensive experience working with a great variety of diverse project sites. Known for his innovative routings and true to his philosophy that a course should “sit softly on the land,” Ron has set a unique standard for environmentally friendly projects that maximize and enhance the land’ s natural characteristics. His company’ s mission is “To design and build memorable courses that challenge players to excel and that everyone can enjoy.”

Course Owner

One of the many reasons that clients choose Ron Garl to design their courses is that Ron is a course owner too. He appreciates that owning a golf course is a business and like any successful enterprise it must return a profit. He designs from inspiration, but always with an owner’s business perspective in mind. As a passionate golfer, Ron knows what elements enhance and maintain golfer loyalty to a course and incorporates them throughout his creations. Ambassador

Ron is truly an ambassador to the game of golf. He is the past President of the Florida Golf Alliance, a coalition of golf groups for the betterment of golf in Florida. His love of the game and its history shows in his constant promotion of the game. His creation of Mega Practice Facilities was inspired by wanting to help golfers with their game; as his philosophy is, ‘If you help golfers improve their game, they will remain loyal and stay in the game longer.’ A captivating speaker, Ron is a frequent lecturer at trade seminars and a visiting professor at the University of Florida.
