An Open letter to All Golfers from Ron Garl

For over forty years I have been designing and renovating golf courses throughout the world. I have worked on five continents and tried to live and design with the philosophy that my designed courses would ‘sit softly on the land, stand the test of time while being rewarding and enjoyable to play.

While striving to maintain the legacy and heritage of the game, my intent has always been to offer the average golfer a fair and yet competitive course. Yes, I have designed high end courses for the professionals and elite country clubs: Many you have seen on TV. However, my principal aim has always been to appeal to the millions of weekend golfers; along with seniors, women and young aspiring golfers because this makes the game grow. I have maintained the philosophy, ‘if you help golfers improve their game; they will remain loyal and stay with it longer.

Every course is a challenge for me; no two course designs are alike; not even close. I want the golfer to enjoy their home course so that even playing it often they find freshness with each round.

Thank you for your patronage to the over 250 courses I have designed or renovated. I feel your euphoria over those spectacular shots and the overall happiness enjoyed in just playing the great game of golf on a Ron Garl designed course.
